3 Overnight Itinerary

DAY 1: Afternoon and evening departure from various locations. Overnight travel through Germany and Austria.

DAY 2: We stop for breakfast (not incl.) prior to arriving in Budapest, "Paris of the East", and following a brief orientation of the city, we check in to our hotel. Relax and freshen up before our Holiday Dinner in a cozy, relaxed atmosphere. Afterwards, there is still much to do to round out the evening - your tourguide will assist with suggestions to partake of the local entertainment.

DAY 3: We begin the day with a Budapest City Tour - taking in such sights as: Castle Hill with the nearby Royal Palace and various museums; the 13th c. Matthias Church, which has been completely reconstructed; Fisherman's Bastion, once a lookout tower viewing the city and river; the Inner City and Chain Bridge, with the many squares and circles; the old Parliament; the landmark, St. Stephan' Basilica and other interesting sights as we explore this city on the Danube surrounded by the Buda Hills. The afternoon is at your leisure to discover Budapest on your own. Your tour guide can arrange an exciting and traditional event (not incl, €57, minimum participation [20] required) which takes us to the Great Plains called the Puszta, where we witness the Hungarian Horsemen (Csikós) demonstrate their riding talents on their fleet ponies. A bountiful dinner will be served (included). We return to Budapest in the early evening - and for those still having energy to spare, you may try a romantic Danube River Cruise (€15).

DAY 4: The day is free to explore Budapest on your own. An optional excursion (€45.) will be available that explores the Danube Bend region - where the Danube River actually changes its course in a "hairpin" turn. We also visit a few of the local villages: the Baroque town of Szentendre, an artist's colony with "a lively Mediterranean atmosphere". The narrow cobble streets offer a variety of shops, particularly featuring pottery, ceramics, embroidered items and antiques. Following lunch (included) we visit Visegrád, once the royal residence of the Hungarian Kings, before returning to the hotel in the late afternoon with the remainder of the day at your leisure. Dinner and entertainment possibilities include visiting a nearby pub with local violin players & musicians.

DAY 5 / LAST DAY: Following breakfast & check-out and a few free moments to capture those last photos and souvenirs, we begin our return trip to Germany. Enroute, we'll take a brief orientation tour (time permitting) of Vienna, Austria pointing out some of the major attractions of this captivating city. A meal stop will be made in Austria before we return to points of origin late at night, or early morning of Day 6.

CHILDREN: 3-12 years of age receive a $30. discount. Under 3, require a bus seat and their own safety seat (not provided), paying $210. Children 12 & under travel half price on Optional Tours.

DOCUMENTS: Both military & civilian personnel, must be in possession of a valid US tourist passport. Please make sure you have a valid US tourist passport that does not expire within 6 months after the tour. It is the responsibility of NON US CITIZENS to meet proper VISA requirements.

CANCELLATION FEES (Per Person): More than 14 days prior to departure, $80.; within 14-7 days prior, $150.; 7 days or less, 50% of tour price will be charged.
