1 Overnight Itinerary

DAY 1: Afternoon and evening departure from various pick-up points.

DAY 2: We arrive early in the morning in Italy and take a breakfast pause (not incl.) before we continue on to Tronchetto to board the local "waterbus", crossing the Venetian Lagoon to the Piazza San Marco. Upon disembarking, we continue on a walking tour seeing the popular sights - the Basilica of San Marco, the Campanile, the Clock Tower with the two bronze statues that have been striking the hour for the last 500 years, the Bridge of Sighs and more. Your tour leader can then organize a romantic gondola ride (not incl., € 25) through the Venetian canals followed by a visit to a glass blowing factory. Following ample shopping time for lace, embroidery and similar local products, dinner (€ 23) can be arranged in an historic Venetian restaurant. We then depart Venice, again by "waterbus", in the early evening and board our coach for the drive to our Deluxe 4-Star Hotel for the overnight stay.

DAY 3: We begin early for Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet, the tragic love story which took place in 1304. We'll visit the house of the Capuletti family with the famous balcony where Romeo serenaded Juliet, and, during our walk, see the 1st Century AD Roman Amphitheatre (€4 entry) which was among the largest of the Roman Empire's accommodating 25,000 spectators. Still well preserved, it is one of Europe's most important operatic venues during the summer months. After a panoramic drive by Lake Como and Lake Lugano, we take a short Orientation Tour (time permitting) of the Swiss Holiday Resort of Lucerne, and its carved rock Lion Monument and the restored Chapel Bridge. After an opportunity for an early dinner (not incl), we continue our return trip to Germany, arriving at points of origin late at night.

CHILDREN: 3-12 years of age receive a $10 discount. Under 3, require a bus seat and their own safety seat (not provided), paying $159.

DOCUMENTS: Valid US Tourist Passport for military and civilian personnel. Military without a tourist passport should check with their Personnel Office or the Foreign Clearance Guide for information on current travel regulations to Switzerland, Austria and Italy. It is the responsibility of NON US CITIZENS to meet proper VISA requirements for ALL countries.

CANCELLATION FEES (Per Person): More than14 days prior to departure, $60; within 14 to 7 days prior to departure, $100; 7 days or less, 50% of tour price will be charged.
