1 Overnight Itinerary

DAY 1: Evening departure from various pick-up points.

DAY 2: We cross the Czech Republic border in the early morning, arriving in Prague around breakfast time (not incl). We'll get acquainted with "The Golden City" on a walking tour - that eventually takes us to the shopping district featuring excellent prices on Bohemian Crystal and Folklore items. Our Prague orientation tour takes in some of the most colourful parts of this city. Among the sights, you'll see the dominating feature of Wenceslas Square, apart from the National Museum at the top, the "small side" with its quaint churches, past the Christ Child of Prague; over the Charles Bridge. We then continue to the Old Market Square to join the Christmas market which is known as one of the most beautiful markets in Europe. Following a romantic cruise on the Moldau River (not incl. €9) we check in to our First Class Hotel and relax a bit before meeting for dinner (included) in the hotel. Your tour guide can provide suggestions for additional evening activities.

LAST DAY: After breakfast we check out, the morning is free for your own activities, exploring Prague and its Market on your own. An optional excursion (€25 - price includes local guide and entry fees; minimum participation required) will be available featuring the fabulous Hradschin Castle, a guided tour of the Strahov Monastery, highly regarded for its many frescoes, its library houses over 100,000 handwritten books, some dating back to the 13th century. We then visit the baroque church and shrine of Loreto, containing fabulous treasures - the crowning glory, from the middle ages, being the monstrance of the Sun of Prague, set with over 6,000 diamonds. Your tour guide will coordinate shopping and dining places before we meet and begin our return trip to Germany. A dinner stop (not incl.) will be made prior to arriving at our points of origin late at night.

Note: During those weeks when the Christmas Market is not "officially" open, the famous "Prague Shopping" markets continue to offer their handcrafted products, at similar bargain prices! The 'official' Christmas Market starts Nov 29 - Jan 01 '09

CHILDREN: 3-12 years of age, $229. Under 3, require a bus seat and their own safety seat (not provided), paying $139. Children 12 & under travel free on Optional Tours, except for entrance fees and boat ride.

DOCUMENTS: Both military and civilian personnel, valid US tourist passport. Please make sure you have a valid US tourist passport that does not expire within 6 months after the tour. Non-US citizens must meet VISA requirements.

CURRENCY: Normally, exchanges to Czech Crone can be made at your local bank prior to departure, if sufficient notice is given. However, exchanges can also be done in Prague where your tour guide will assist.

CANCELLATION FEES (Per Person): More than 14 days prior to departure, $60; within 14 to 7 days prior, $80; 7 days or less, 50% of tour price will be charged.
