BUDAPEST, PRAGUE & VIENNA

1 Overnight Itinerary

DAY 1: Afternoon and evening departure from various pick-up points.

DAY 2: Following an early morning breakfast (not incl), we arrive in Vienna, Austria. We are then joined by our local guide for our City Tour, highlighting such sights as: the Schönbrunn Palace, the crowning glory of the Habsburg Dynasty completed by Maria Theresia (the "Mother of Austria") in 1749; the lavishly terraced gardens of Prince Eugene's Belvedere Palace, providing a magnificent view of Austria's capital; or simply driving down the elegant Ring Boulevard passing Emperor Franz Joseph's Hofburg, the Burg Theater, the State Opera House, the Parliament Building and St. Stephan's Cathedral. There is some free time to explore on your own and enjoy lunch (not incl) before we depart for the drive to Hungary - taking in the Roman remains and the castle ruins that dot the countryside as we leisurely make our way to Budapest. Upon arrival, we check in to our Hotel in the early evening. Your tour guide can arrange for a typical dinner (not incl.) prior to retiring for the night.

DAY 3: After Buffet Breakfast and check-out, we begin the Budapest City Tour with our local guide by driving up the Gellert Hill to take in the views of the Danube Bridges - Pest lies to the East and the Buda and Blue Mountains to the North. Other historical sights include Hero's Square, the Parliament, King Mathias' Church, the Fisherman's Bastion, the Roman Ruins at Acqincum (when available) and the National Museum. The afternoon is free for your own activities or you can join us for a unique experience, on an optional excursion to the Puszta (€55, all events included, minimum participation required) - the hospitable Great Plain with its fast ponies and colorful Csikós (Horsemen), in traditional costumes and wide brimmed hats. A bountiful dinner (incl) will be served as we watch a traditional 'plains' wedding take place, followed by horseback riding or a wagon ride before returning to Budapest. And as no trip to Budapest is complete without having been on the 'Blue Danube', an optional boat excursion (€15) of the illuminated sights is usually available. We then begin our journey to Prague.

LAST DAY: We arrive early in the 'Golden City' and a capital since the 13th Century. After pausing for breakfast (not incl), we continue with our local guide on a Walking City Tour through the enchanting Old Town - featuring diverse historical sights. Following free time for lunch and shopping - particularly for assorted Folklore items and Bohemia Crystal - we begin our return trip to Germany and, after a dinner stop along the way (not incl), we arrive at points of origin late at night.

CHILDREN: 3-12 years of age receive a $30 discount. Under 3 require a bus seat and their own safety seat (not provided) paying $150. Children 12 & under travel for half price on optional tours.

DOCUMENTS: Both military & civilian personnel, valid US tourist passport. Please make sure you have a valid US tourist passport that does not expire within 6 months after the tour. Non-US citizens must meet VISA requirements.

CANCELLATION FEES (Per Person): More than 14 days prior to departure, $60; within 14-7 days prior, $100; 7 days or less prior to departure, 50% of tour price will be charged.
